As well as reducing the overall level of pressure, reducing surges or pressure transients from the network can also significantly reduce the rate of new bursts. Unlike some pressure control systems, such as two stage systems, the i2O system does not create pressure transients. Furthermore, it can detect pressure transients in the network and report these to the water company for preventative action.
