Managed Service

Managed service
However good the technology, no water company can fully benefit from the i2O system unless the planning, installation and maintenance of the system is part of a well thought out and structured project. Nor will the i2O system be able to do its job if other key equipment installed in the DMA such as flow meters and PRVs are not specified correctly or are poorly maintained.  i2O has developed its managed service capability to address these issues. The managed service covers the following phases of the project:

1. Proposal and feasibility

This would include a cost benefit analysis, trials and preliminary study and costing.

2. Project planning

The planning phase would normally consist of further data gathering, agreement of performance targets and an installation plan.

3. Installation

i2O carries out the installation phase of the project in accordance with the agreed budget and programme.

4. Maintenance

As well as monitoring its own condition, the i2O system monitors the condition of other essential DMA equipment such as flow meters and PRVs  (see section on i2O system benefits). This enables i2O to carry out cost effective maintenance of this equipment if required.

5. Hardware planned maintenance

As well as the maintenance of the i2O system, i2O can take on responsibility for the maintenance of other equipment that is essential to the proper functioning of the i2O system such as flow meters and PRVs. The precise maintenance schedule depends on the age, quality and operating environment of the equipment.

6. Emergency call out

i2O will agree a maximum response time appropriate to each customer. This would normally be six hours.
