ABOUT US
i2O water was founded in 2005 by Adam Kingdon and Andrew Burrows with backing from a small group of investors led by Andy Phillipps and Michael Ullmann.
Adam Kingdon and Andrew Burrows believed strongly that new technology could help solve the problem of leakage in water networks and that this would become increasingly urgent as water became scarcer around the world. At the same time, they spotted a gap in the market for advanced pressure management. There had been little investment in this technology despite the fact that it offers big leakage savings with short implementation times and very competitive costs compared to other leakage reduction measures.
i2O has since raised £2m from over 25 individual investors as well as the venture capital firm Nemadi Advisors Ltd to fund their R&D programme. They have also put together a talented and experienced R&D team covering a range of disciplines including electronics, software, mechanical engineering, water engineering, mathematics and IT. The R&D team has now completed development of the system which is undergoing trials with a number of UK water companies. Two international patents have been filed.
The management team has since been strengthened by the addition of two highly experienced senior managers from the water industry, Sales Director Simon Isherwood and Operations Director Jon Daniels.
i2O provides the technology as a managed service and works closely with its customers to make sure that the systems are optimised and giving the maximum benefit 100% of the time. In order to achieve this, it has begun to build up a strong customer service team backed, of course, by the latest IT.
